In a new scientific achievement that reflects the academic excellence of the College of Pharmacy, a research team from the Clinical Pharmacy Department at the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad, succeeded in publishing a peer-reviewed qualitative study with the prestigious international publisher Springer Nature, titled “A Qualitative Study on the Beliefs and Perceptions of Inaugural PharmD Program Graduates”.<\/span><\/p>\n

The study adopted a rigorous scientific methodology by conducting 21 in-depth interviews with graduates from the first cohort of the program, revealing key findings: significant improvement in clinical skills, particularly in hospital settings, and broad praise for the quality of hands-on training and academic activities throughout the program. Recommendations for enhancing the curriculum through increased reliance on applied OSCE exams, development of clinical instructors\u2019 capabilities, and restructuring the time allocation of academic subjects.<\/span><\/p>\n

The study also highlighted some challenges faced by the program, such as curriculum intensity, the need to balance theoretical and practical components, and improving the organization of the academic schedule.<\/span><\/p>\n

This pioneering study considered the first systematic evaluation of Baghdad’s PharmD program from graduates’ perspectives and represents a valuable contribution to global pharmaceutical education literature. It also reflects the university’s commitment to international quality standards.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is worth mentioning that publication with Springer Nature represents international recognition of the research\u2019s quality and its significance in advancing pharmaceutical education, not only in Iraq but also on the regional and global levels.<\/span><\/p>\n
