Kathum AlKhateeb, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy-University of Baghdad\u2026.The continuing education unit at the college established a workshop under the title<strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><strong>How to Respond to Peer Reviewer Comments?\u00a0<\/strong>The presenter, Dr. Ali Azeez Ali, demonstrated a summary of the peer-reviewing process and how the authors can successfully address all the reviewer comments on-by-one. He also shared some of his previous responses to the reviewers of his manuscript. The following is the summary of the provided workshop with some practical tips about the topic.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 19px;\">The significance of journal reviewing<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Overview about peer reviewing process.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Tips about how to respond to peer reviewer comments<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Reviewers play a pivotal role in scholarly publishing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">The peer review system exists to 1) validate academic work, 2) help \u00a0improve the quality of published research, and 3) increase networking possibilities within research communities.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Peer review is designed to <strong>assess<\/strong> the 1) validity, 2) quality, and often the 3) originality of articles for publication.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Its ultimate purpose is to <u>maintain the integrity of science <\/u>by filtering out invalid or poor quality articles.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\"><strong>Practical advice for responding to reviewers\u2019 comments<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\"><strong> Say thanks<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Begin by thanking the reviewer for their comments and advice.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\"><strong> Summarize the revisions you made.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Specify that you\u2019ve addressed all of the reviewer\u2019s concerns and summarize the changes you made.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\"><strong> Make your answers easy to see.<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">List all the reviewer\u2019s comments and your answer to each one.
