Assistant Professor Dr. Khalid Kadhem Al-Kinani<\/strong>, Head of the Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Plants Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Azeez Ali and Assistant Lecturer Ahmed Majid Hamid, faculty members the Clinical Pharmacy Department participated in the first day of the Iraqi Cancer Council Conference held in Baghdad on October 2, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Health, the President of the Cancer Council, and the Secretary-General of the Cancer Council in Iraq. This major national and scientific gathering aims to enhance medical, health, and therapeutic services for cancer patients in Iraq through the exchange of expertise among specialized physicians and pharmacists in this critically important field.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Al-Kinani delivered a lecture on biological drugs and participated in a panel discussion on local pharmaceutical factories, which are among the Ministry and government\u2019s strategic goals for localizing pharmaceutical manufacturing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Ali Azeez<\/strong> Ali moderated the discussion session, which lasted for more than two hours and included a distinguished group of clinical oncology pharmacists<\/strong>. The session featured six scientific presentations<\/strong> delivered by pharmacists representing various Iraqi hospitals<\/strong>, during which they shared their practical experiences<\/strong> from institutions such as Medical City, the Oncology Hospital, Hematology Centers, and Al-Jawad Center at Al-Kadhimiya Teaching Hospital<\/strong>. The event witnessed the participation of pharmacists from different provinces across Iraq<\/strong>, extending from the Kurdistan Region in the north<\/strong> to Basra Governorate in the south<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Ahmed Majid presented a lecture summarizing his master\u2019s research on the importance of reporting adverse and harmful effects of chemotherapy drugs to the Iraqi Pharmacovigilance Center to safeguard public health.<\/span><\/p>\n

We are proud of the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad\u2019s involvement in such a significant national and medical event.<\/span><\/p>\n

In this active participation, our college reaffirm its continued commitment to supporting national and scientific efforts aimed at advancing cancer patient care in Iraq.<\/span><\/p>\n
