Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kadhem Al-Khateeb, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Pharmacy\/ University of Baghdad, held an in-person workshop titled \u201cMedicinal Plants and Their Role in Sustainable Development\u201d, presented by Assistant Lecturer Sarah Mohammed Sadiq, Head of the Planning Unit in the Division of Studies and Planning.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to introduce medicinal and aromatic plants, raise awareness about their importance, cultivation, and use as natural alternatives to dietary supplements and chemically manufactured drugs, given their numerous health benefits.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop covered several topics, including the history of medicinal plants and the civilizations that recognized their value, prominent scientists from those eras, the characteristics and various uses of medicinal and aromatic plants, and the relationship between medicinal plants and sustainable development.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of medicinal and aromatic plants in promoting public health and supporting sustainable development, as well as their role as natural alternatives to supplements and chemical medications.<\/span><\/p>\n
