Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Al-Khateeb, the Human Rights Unit at the College of Pharmacy\/University of Baghdad organized an awareness activity entitled \u201cColor Your Life Orange on the Occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women\u201d, held in the courtyard of the College of Pharmacy, with the participation of a group of second-year students, who participated under the supervision of the Unit Director, Assistant Lecturer Noor Taleb Akbar.<\/span><\/p>\n

The activity aimed to raise awareness about the seriousness of violence against women and encourage the community to support women and adopt a culture of respect and protection by using the orange color as a symbol of hope and a future free from violence.<\/span><\/p>\n

The activity included the presentation of awareness posters and discussions on several topics related to understanding the issue of violence against women and ways to support them within the university campus. The meaning and symbolism of the orange color in anti-violence campaigns were explained, highlighting its representation of hope and optimism. The types of violence that women may face were also discussed, along with an exchange of participants\u2019 views on the causes of the prevalence of violence and ways to reduce it within society.<\/span><\/p>\n

The activity concluded by emphasizing the vital role of educational institutions and families in supporting women and promoting a culture of respect and non-discrimination.<\/span><\/p>\n
