Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Continuing Education Unit at the University of Baghdad\/College of Pharmacy held an in-person workshop entitled \u201cModern Devices for Glucose Monitoring\u201d, delivered by Lecturer Dr. Zena Qaragholi, a faculty member at the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to highlight recent advancements in blood glucose monitoring technologies and emphasize the importance of using smart, modern devices to enhance accuracy and reduce discomfort associated with traditional testing methods.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop included several topics, including an overview of modern glucose-monitoring devices and their respective features, with a focus on improvements in measurement accuracy and ease of use. Also, the mechanism of non-invasive glucose monitors was explained, as these devices represent a significant advancement since they can reduce the need for repeated finger pricks. Moreover, continuous glucose monitoring technologies were presented, along with how they can be integrated with smart applications that allow users and healthcare professionals to analyze data in real time. Additionally, traditional glucose measuring devices were compared with advanced systems in terms of accuracy, convenience, and response to glucose fluctuations. Furthermore, the role of smart devices in early detection of hypo- and hyperglycemia through real-time alerts was discussed, making them effective tools in reducing health risks.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop concluded that adopting modern glucose-monitoring devices in healthcare institutions and diabetes clinics is essential, as they provide accurate data that support better treatment decisions and reduce complications, contributing to more effective medical management.<\/span><\/p>\n
