\u00a0<\/strong>The Dean of the University of Baghdad College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, met on Thursday, February 5, 2026, with laboratory instructors and teaching assistants, in the presence of the Associate Dean for Scientific and Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Munaf H. Abdulrazzaq, to discuss ways to enhance practical education and develop the laboratory environment in line with the College\u2019s vision for academic excellence.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the meeting, the dean emphasized the importance of allocating more time for hands-on practice in laboratories while focusing on the essential theoretical explanations that support each experiment. This approach allows students to have deeper understanding and more effective practical engagement. He also highlighted the value of encouraging students to repeat laboratory experiments when needed to consolidate skills and build confidence in practical work.<\/span><\/p>\n

The meeting further stressed the adoption of interactive teaching methods that ensure active participation of all students, whether through individual work or small-group activities. Such approaches contribute to the development of practical skills for each student and foster a sense of responsibility and self-directed learning.<\/span><\/p>\n

Within the framework of improving the educational environment, the dean underscored the need for continuous attention to laboratories, their equipment, and regular maintenance, as well as the provision of necessary supplies. He also emphasized the role of teaching staff in guiding students toward the optimal and proper use of laboratory instruments and equipment in accordance with approved scientific standards.<\/span><\/p>\n

The dean affirmed the college administration\u2019s commitment to elevating the academic and practical level of all students by providing a motivating learning environment that enables them to develop their scientific and professional competencies. This, in turn, strengthens the standing of the college\u2019s graduates and prepares them for excellence in their professional careers.<\/span><\/p>\n

This meeting comes as part of the college\u2019s commitment to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) through improving the quality of practical education, Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) through laboratory development and enhancement of technical skills, and Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by preparing qualified pharmacy professionals capable of supporting the healthcare system with efficiency and responsibility.<\/span><\/p>\n
