Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Scientific Affairs Division at the University of Baghdad\/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person scientific seminar entitled \u201cEvaluation of Androgen Receptor Expression and Its Association with Clinicopathological Features in Iraqi Women with Breast Cancer”, delivered by pharmacist Noor Sabeeh Saeed, a postgraduate student in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences Department.<\/span><\/p>\n

The seminar aimed to clarify the role of androgen receptors in breast cancer and their importance as a diagnostic and predictive factor in determining the course of the disease and treatment options.<\/span><\/p>\n

The seminar included several topics, including an introduction to breast cancer and its molecular types, the role of hormonal receptors in breast cancer, the mechanism of action of androgen receptors, and the relationship between androgen receptors and clinical and pathological characteristics. Also, it included a review of the latest studies in the field, highlighted the main challenges facing diagnosis and treatment, emphasized future development prospects, and underscored the importance of using biomarkers to improve diagnostic accuracy and guide therapeutic decisions, thereby enhancing patient outcomes and the quality of healthcare.<\/span><\/p>\n

The seminar concluded that the androgen receptor is an important biomarker that can contribute to improving the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. The results showed its association with certain clinical and pathological characteristics, which enhances its predictive value and opens new prospects for developing targeted therapeutic strategies, thereby contributing to the improvement of healthcare quality.<\/span><\/p>\n
