Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Al-Khateeb, the Continuing Education Unit at the University of Baghdad \\ College of Pharmacy University of Baghdad\u00a0 held an in-person training course entitled \u201cMicrowave Monowave Reactor Technology in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Synthesis,\u201d delivered by Lecturer Dr. Mayada Riyadh, Lecturer Dr. Shams Awad, and Lecturer Dr. Wurood Shihab Ahmed, faculty members at the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0The course aimed to develop participants\u2019 skills in using microwave technology in chemical and pharmaceutical synthesis by integrating theoretical foundations with practical applications, in a manner consistent with the requirements of scientific research and laboratory safety standards.<\/span><\/p>\n

The course covered several topics, including a comprehensive introduction to microwave technology, an explanation of the physical principle of microwave heating in chemical reactions, identification of the device components and operational variables and how to control them, as well as an overview of key pharmaceutical applications of the technique in synthesis and improving reaction efficiency, along with practical examples to enhance participants\u2019 hands-on skills and an assessment to evaluate their learning outcomes and successful completion of the course.<\/span><\/p>\n

The course concluded that the use of microwave technology in chemical and pharmaceutical synthesis contributes to improving reaction efficiency and accelerating processes, with an emphasis on adhering to safety procedures to ensure a safe laboratory working environment.<\/span><\/p>\n
