Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences and the Volunteer Work Unit at the College of Pharmacy \/ University of Baghdad organized a voluntary blood donation campaign in cooperation with the National Blood Transfusion Center \/ Technical Affairs Department at the Ministry of Health. The campaign witnessed active participation from the college\u2019s faculty members, staff, and students, embodying the highest values of human solidarity and social responsibility. Indeed, a single drop of blood may become a lifeline for a patient or a source of hope for an injured person awaiting help. The campaign stemmed from a firm belief in the importance of volunteer work and its role in promoting the values of compassion, generosity, and solidarity within both the university community and society as a whole.<\/span><\/p>\n

The campaign aimed to contribute to supporting blood reserves and blood products and providing them to hospitalized patients whose medical conditions require urgent blood transfusions to save their lives, particularly in cases of severe bleeding of all kinds; surgical operations; hereditary blood disorders, especially thalassemia; as well as leukemia patients and other critical medical conditions. The campaign also sought to promote the culture of blood donation and raise awareness of its humanitarian and health-related significance, as it represents a noble act that reflects an individual\u2019s awareness and sense of responsibility toward others while offering patients a renewed chance at life.<\/span><\/p>\n

The campaign concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing such voluntary initiatives due to their significant role in supporting patients and reinforcing the culture of giving within society.<\/span><\/p>\n
