Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Continuous Education Unit at the University of Baghdad\/College of Pharmacy held an in-person workshop entitled \u201cAdministrative and Financial Corruption and Its Impact on Education in Iraq Between Two Eras,”\u00a0delivered by Lecturer Dr. Fadhil Abbas Jabbar from the College of Languages \/ University of Baghdad.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to highlight the manifestations of administrative and financial corruption and their role in the decline of education in Iraq during two different eras, in addition to explaining their impact on the quality of the educational process and community development , raise awareness about the importance of transparency, oversight, and administrative reform in advancing the educational sector in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions).<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop included several topics, including the concept of administrative and financial corruption, its main causes, and the mechanisms of its spread within educational institutions, discussion the state of education in Iraq during the two eras and compared the levels of administration and organization in each period, the impact of corruption on educational infrastructure, curricula, and teaching competencies, as well as its effects on students and their academic performance, the role of oversight and laws in combating corruption and emphasized the importance of promoting integrity and transparency to achieve sustainable educational reform.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop concluded with emphasizing the necessity of activating the principles of transparency and accountability in educational institutions and strengthening oversight mechanisms to reduce administrative and financial corruption, due to its direct impact on improving the quality of education and preparing a scientifically qualified generation capable of serving society and achieving sustainable development.<\/span><\/p>\n
