Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Pharmacy \/ University of Baghdad held a face-to-face workshop entitled \u201cFamily Disintegration and Its Social and Psychological Causes\u201d, delivered by a number of specialists in family and social counseling.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to clarify the most important factors affecting family stability and to highlight the social, psychological, and economic causes that lead to family conflicts. It also sought to raise awareness of early prevention methods to avoid the escalation of problems within the family and to promote the concepts of understanding and effective communication among family members.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop included several topics, such as defining the role of the family in building the individual and society, reviewing the main factors that weaken family cohesion\u2014such as living pressures, poor communication management within the family, and differences in expectations between spouses. It also discussed the negative effects of these issues on psychological and social stability, and presented a set of counseling-based solutions to help reduce their impact.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of empowering families with positive communication skills and constructive conflict management, in a way that enhances social cohesion and aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 5 related to gender equality<\/span><\/p>\n
