{"id":1641,"date":"2023-01-25T21:24:34","date_gmt":"2023-01-25T21:24:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.copharm.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1641"},"modified":"2023-01-25T21:24:34","modified_gmt":"2023-01-25T21:24:34","slug":"discussion-of-the-phytochemical-components-of-bottle-brush-plant-grown-in-iraq","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.copharm.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1641","title":{"rendered":"Discussion of the phytochemical components of bottle brush plant grown in Iraq"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">The College of Pharmacy discussed the master&#8217;s thesis tagged Takht entitled &#8220;Phytochemical investigation and evaluation of antimicrobial activity of the aerial part of the bottle brush plant grown in Iraq&#8221; by the student Anas Yaser Asaad and his supervisor, Prof. Dr. Enas Jawad Kadhum, in the pharmacognosy \u00a0and medicinal plants department.The thesis aimed to find and isolate the chemical components in the bottle brush plant grown in Iraq and evaluate the antimicrobial activity on selected bacteria and fungi, and many phytochemical components were separated from the plant using PLC, pHPLC .Then identify and characterize the compounds using several techniques (LC\/MS\/MS\/Q\/TOF, GC-MS) have been proven to be Maslinic acid: Gallic acid, Quercetin, Quercitrin, Loganin, Scutellarin, 3, 5-Di-O-caffeoylquinic acid, Hyproside, Isoquercetin, and Astragalin Kaempferol.\u00a0In addition to proving the existence of compounds in essential oil: Alpha-Pinene, Eucalyptol, Alpha-Terpineol, Beta-Caryophyllene, Viridiflorol, Ledol, Epiglobulol, Beta-Eudesmol, Beta-Elemene, Gamma-Elemene, Gamma-Terpinene, 3-Carene, and Alpha-Tocopherol.
