Kathem Alkhateeb, the Continuing Education Unit at the University of Baghdad\/College of Pharmacy held an in-person workshop entitled \u201cMedication Review: Identifying and Preventing Drug-Related Problems (DRPs) in Clinical Practice\u201d\u00a0delivered by Assistant Lecturer Angham Ahmed Hasan, a faculty member at the Clinical Pharmacy Department.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">The workshop aimed to <strong>introduce the concept of Drug-Related Problems (DRPs), highlight methods for their identification and prevention, and emphasize the role of medication review in improving therapeutic outcomes and patient safety.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">The workshop included several topics, including the concept of <strong>DRPs<\/strong> according to Hepler-Strand and PCNE classifications, <strong>types of DRPs<\/strong><strong>, <\/strong>factors contributing to their occurrence, and patient groups most vulnerable to these problems. It also addressed the role of the clinical pharmacist in identifying, assessing, and managing <strong>DRPs<\/strong>, as well as medication interventions and patient follow-up mechanisms to ensure safe and effective medication use.
