Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Alkhateeb, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Ibn Sina Unit in the College of Pharmacy \/ University of Baghdad, held an electronic scientific workshop given by Assistant Professor Dr. Samer Imad Mohammad a faculty member\u00a0 in the Clinical Pharmacy Department, on DNA extraction and polymerase chain reaction techniques ( PCR).\u00a0The purpose of the workshop, which is titled “DNA Extraction and Polymerase Chain Reaction Techniques,” is to provide a historical overview of the beginnings of DNA extraction and polymerase chain reaction, as well as what these scientific achievements have added to humanity. Additionally, the workshop intends to identify the importance of these processes in various types of scientific research and define the most important methods used, as well as how to choose the appropriate manner in accordance with the objectives that have been set for the investigation, as well as the practical steps that have been outlined along with an explanation of the purposes of each step and how they should be carried out in the laboratory.\u00a0The lecture covered a wide range of topics, including a brief history of these processes and how they evolved the practical steps in the laboratory that must be followed to separate the DNA and methods to verify the successful completion of this process, as well as the best way to choose the type of polymerization reaction based on the purpose of the research and the steps of this process, as well as the importance and role of each step and methods of verification.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
