Under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy-University of Baghdad.\u00a0The continuing education unit, established a workshop with a title (Animal Study Design) that was given by Assistant Lecturer Nisreen Jumaah Jebur, a faculty member in the Clinical Pharmacy Department.\u00a0Many chronic diseases are caused by a short list of risk behaviors:<\/strong> Tobacco use<\/a>\u00a0and exposure to\u00a0secondhand smoke<\/a>. Poor nutrition<\/a>, including diets low in fruits and vegetables and high in sodium and saturated fats, Physical inactivity<\/a> and, excessive alcohol use<\/a>. Lifestyle modification is the act of changing someone\u2019s habit for an extended period of time to maintain good health. People can obtain a healthy life through regular exercise and healthy eating. Furthermore, they should consume beneficial types of food in the right quantities. The practice of medicine is centered on prescribing medications as the first line of treatment for majority of medical problems. Although prescription medications are powerful and improve biomarkers such as blood pressure, hemoglobin A1C, and lipids rapidly, they do not always treat the underlying cause of the disease, which could be exacerbated due to a poor lifestyle-smoking, a lack of exercise, bad food choices, and stress. Most health care practitioners would agree that the majority of chronic diseases and their sequelae are the result of poor lifestyle choices.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
