Kathum Alkhateeb, the Scientific Affairs Unit at the College of Pharmacy \/ University of Baghdad held a scientific workshop entitled \u201c<strong>Overview of Mixed Method Research<\/strong>\u201d that was provided by Dr. Ali Azeez Al-Jumaili from the Clinical Pharmacy Department virtually via Zoom.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\"><strong>The workshop focused on the following learning objectives:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Teaching the readers, a summary of mixed methods Research, when, and what<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Also listing the types of mixed methods and when we need to use each type.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Why should a researcher use such an approach?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Explaining to readers what you plan to accomplish with your design.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Describe how to match the design to the research problem, purpose, and questions!<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Explaining WHY researchers should use such a mixed method design.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Summarizing some of the mixed method work done by the presenter in pharmacy practice and social and administrative pharmacy fields.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Finally, guide the readers on how they can conduct such studies and write the article components.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\"><strong><u>Mixed methods research<\/u><\/strong> is the type of research in which a researcher or team of researchers combines elements of qualitative and quantitative research approaches.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\"><strong><u>Types of Mixed Methods<\/u><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">QUAL + QUAN (inductive-simultaneous design where, the core component is qualitative, and the supplemental component is quantitative).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">QUAL! QUAN (inductive-sequential design where the core component is qualitative and the supplemental component is quantitative).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">QUAN + QUAL (deductive-simultaneous design where, the core component is quantitative, and the supplemental component is qualitative).<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">QUAN!
