Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Al-khateeb, the Scientific Affairs Unit at the College of Pharmacy \/ University of Baghdad held a scientific seminar delivered by Assistant Lecturer Tayseer Hamid Shakir, a faculty member in the Pharmaceutical chemistry Department, on preservatives in pharmaceuticals.\u00a0The workshop aims to introduce the definition of preservatives, types of preservatives according to their source, whether natural or synthetic, the mechanism of their action to protect medicines from bacterial contamination and chemical degradation, and also to define the properties of preservatives and demonstrate the types used in medications.<\/span><\/p>\n
