Under the guidance of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Scientific Affairs Unit at the College of Pharmacy \/ University of Baghdad held a scientific seminar presented by Massara Nazar Ahmed, MSC St.in the Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Plants Department, about the pharmacological effects of the Curcuma Longa <\/em>plant in the management of inflammation in osteoarthritis and as an anti-oxidant in the management of some types of cancer.The lecture included also an Introduction to the Curcuma Longa <\/em>plant and the most active ingredients it contains, like curcumin, as well as the biological activity of the plant in the management of various diseases and inflammation and its role as an antimicrobial and antioxidant in the management of some types of cancer.<\/span><\/p>\n
