{"id":1897,"date":"2023-03-11T10:54:21","date_gmt":"2023-03-11T10:54:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.copharm.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1897"},"modified":"2023-03-11T10:54:21","modified_gmt":"2023-03-11T10:54:21","slug":"discussion-the-possible-protective-effect-of-daflon-in-comparison-with-pentoxifylline-against-nephrotoxicity-induced-by-cisplatin-in-experimental-rats","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.copharm.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=1897","title":{"rendered":"Discussion\u00a0 the possible protective effect of daflon in comparison with pentoxifylline against nephrotoxicity induced by cisplatin in experimental rats"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">\u00a0 The Faculty of Pharmacy discussed the master&#8217;s thesis entitled &#8220;The possible protective effect of daflon in comparison with pentoxifylline\u00a0 \u00a0against nephrotoxicity induced by cisplatin in experimental rats.\u00a0\u00a0 The study aimed to reveal the protective effect of Daflon against cisplatin-induced nephrotoxicity and to compare it with pentoxifylline by evaluating the following parameters: blood urea nitrogen, creatinine, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, interleukin-6, serum levels of glutathione reductase in the kidneys, \u00a0\u00a0and malondialdehyde\u00a0\u00a0 in addition to the histological examination of the rat section.The results showed that administration of Daflon in different doses to rats led to a significant decrease in the levels of urea and creatinine in the serum and a significant decrease in the activities of pro-inflammatory cytokines in the serum: tumor necrosis factor-alpha and interleukin-6, compared to the cisplatin group.\u00a0 Moreover, administration of Daflon in different doses to rats resulted in a significant increase in the activities of antioxidant enzymes (glutathione reductase enzyme) and a significant decrease in the level of malondialdehyde in the kidneys of rats compared to the cisplatin group. Also, by comparison with pentoxifylline in different doses, it was found that Daflon gave results similar to pentoxifylline. The histological examination showed a significant fading of the kidney sections of daflon-treated rats compared to the cisplatin group.
