{"id":3532,"date":"2023-06-14T09:05:25","date_gmt":"2023-06-14T09:05:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.copharm.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=3532"},"modified":"2023-06-14T09:05:25","modified_gmt":"2023-06-14T09:05:25","slug":"the-faculty-of-pharmacy-discussed-preparation-and-in-vitro-evaluation-of-luliconazole-as-topical-nanoemulgel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.copharm.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=3532","title":{"rendered":"The Faculty of Pharmacy discussed Preparation and In-Vitro Evaluation of Luliconazole as Topical Nanoemulgel"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">The Faculty of Pharmacy discussed the MSc Degree thesis, tagged&#8221; Preparation and <em>In-Vitro <\/em>Evaluation of Luliconazole as Topical Nanoemulgel &#8221; by <strong>Ahmed Mohamed Jawad<\/strong> and the supervisor, <strong>Prof. Dr. Mowafaq Mohamed Ghareeb <\/strong>in the Department of Pharmaceutics.\u00a0The purpose of this research was to formulate and characterize the gellified nanoemulsion of luliconazole as a topical delivery system to improve therapeutic effectiveness by improving the dispersibility of luliconazole.\u00a0Saturated solubility study of drug was done in different oils, surfactants and co-surfactant. According to the saturation solubility study results, peppermint oil as the oil phase, tween 80 as a surfactant, and (transcutol p and ethanol) as co-surfactant were selected together with distilled water for the nanoemulsion system preparation.\u00a0The nanoemulsion zone was fabricated by applying six pseudo ternary phase diagrams including a surfactant mixture (S mix) at ratios of (1:1, 2:1 and 3:1). Thirty formulae were prepared by using the aqueous titration method. Thermodynamic stability studies were performed to test the stability of the prepared formulations. Particle size and polydispersity index measurements were also accomplished. Among the prepared formulations, twenty seven formulas that passed the stability test and with accepted polydispersity index results were subjected to characterization studies such as percent of light transmittance, drug content, pH measurement and determining of nano emulsion type studies.\u00a0The selection of nano-emulsions for final nanoemulgels preparation depends on the particle size tested less than 100nm as well as all the remaining studies. Fourteen formulations were chosen among thirty nano-emulsion formulations to develop a luliconazole o\/w nanoemulgel.\u00a0Then,\u00a0 0.5% carbopol 934 as the gelling agent was incorporated into selected formulas to obtain nanoemulgel formulas (G-1 to G-14). These nanoemulgel formulas were subjected to physical appearance, pH, drug content, viscosity and <em>in-vitro<\/em> release studies.
