The Faculty of Pharmacy discussed the Master\u2019s Degree thesis, tagged”Evaluating the Protective Effects of Iraqi Ammi Majus Seeds Extract on Doxorubicin-Induced Cardiotoxicity in Male Mice,” by Israa Abdul Jabbar Jasim and her supervisor, Assistant Professor Dr. Shihab Hattab Mutlag, in the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department. The thesis aimed to determine the protective effects of Ammi majus seed\u00a0extract against doxorubicin-induced cardiotoxicity in male mice. The concept of the thesis Data analysis revealed that mice pre-treated with different doses of Ammi majus extract (64 mg\/kg and 128 mg\/kg mice for 14 days) significantly reduced oxidative stress when compared to the positive control group intoxicated with 15 mg\/kg doxorubicin, as evidenced by a significant (p 0.05) decrease in malondialdehyde and creatine phosphokinase and creatine kinase myoglobin band content and an increase in glutathione, catalase, superoxide dismutase, and glutathione peroxidase in the pretreated group. Histological examination revealed a significant improvement in the heart section of the Ammi majus-treated groups compared to the doxorubicin-only group. Ammi majus has a cardioprotective effect against Doxorubicin toxicity through its antioxidant effect, as shown by a significant positive effect on the measured biomarkers.<\/span><\/p>\n
