Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum Alkhateeb, the Continuing Education Unit, in cooperation with the Ibn Sina Unit at the University of Baghdad\/College of Pharmacy, held an electronic workshop entitled \u201cSafe Use of Cosmetics Containing Natural Extracts,” delivered by Assistant Lecturer. Nisreen Jumaha Jabur and Assistant Lecturer Zahraa Suhail Nassir, faculty members at the Clinical Pharmacy and the Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Plants Departments, respectively. The workshop aimed to highlight the most important natural extracts used in the manufacture of cosmetics and methods of safe use of them. The workshop included several topics, including the definition of cosmetic materials and natural extracts, the classification of herbal cosmetics, and explaining the main ingredients of herbal cosmetics. The workshop concluded that important points must be followed before purchasing and while using herbal cosmetics and stressed the necessity of examining the product in terms of ingredients, origin, and the correct storage method to maintain its effectiveness and avoid the occurrence of unwanted side effects.<\/span><\/p>\n
