Abdulhameed, at the Pharmaceutics Department. The study aimed to prepare and characterize dutasteride nanoparticles to enhance their solubility and release rate, and then incorporate the nanoparticles into a fast-dissolving oral film to achieve fast release and rapid onset of action and to improve patient compliance. The results showed that dutasteride nanoparticles exhibited a significant improvement in dissolution rate, as in vitro dissolution studies revealed faster drug release, achieving 100% within 15 minutes. The study recommended the importance of conducting a clinical trial to assess the in vivo bioavailability of oral fast-dissolving films that include dutasteride nanoparticles. Moreover, it is crucial to conduct a comprehensive stability assessment over the long term to comprehend how temperature and humidity affect these films.
