Kathum Alkhateeb, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit, held an educational workshop entitled (Drugs are a fleeting beginning&#8230;to a fatal end) presented by Dr. Lubna Abdalkarim Sabri, a faculty member in the department of pharmaceutics.The workshop aimed to increase awareness about the problem of illicit drug addiction and warn of its physical, psychological, social, and economic dangers to users and to society in general. The workshop first introduced a brief overview of the concepts of habituation and addiction, as well as the most important reasons for addiction and how to deal with an addicted person. The workshop also included drugs and psychotropic substances in Iraqi law.
