The Faculty of Pharmacy discussed the master\u2019s thesis tagged \u201cFormulation and evaluation of meloxicam bilosomes vesicle carrier as a potential for transdermal delivery\u201d by Othman Farooq Bakr Al-Sawaf and his supervisor, Assist. Prof. Dr. Fatima Jalal Jawad, in the Pharmaceutics Department.\u00a0The thesis aimed to investigate the potential use of bilosomes as a vesicle carrier to facilitate transdermal delivery of meloxicam, thus reducing unwanted gastrointestinal adverse effects associated with the oral route of administration.\u00a0The thesis included the use of a novel probe sonication method, reported for the first time for the preparation of bilosomes. This method has the advantages of being fast, easy, and involves the use of pure water instead of toxic organic solvents, which are used in traditional methods for bilosome preparation.\u00a0The results proved that the novel method was an efficient method for the preparation of bilosomes successfully and can be considered as an ecological and economical alternative to traditional methods. The prepared bilosomes were in the nano-range with high stability, and they successfully led to enhanced in-vitro skin permeation of meloxicam.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
