Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the continuous education Unit at the University of Baghdad\/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person workshop entitled \u201cPrevention and treatment of Mpox” delivered by Lecturer Dr. Zena M. ahmed, a faculty member at the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department. The workshop aimed to increase the clinicians\u2019 awareness and ability to recognize the common clinical manifestations of mpox and diagnose the disease in their patients. The workshop also provided the clinicians with evidence-based recommendations on primary prevention, diagnostic testing, and supportive care and treatment of Mpox; and aimed to increase the clinicians\u2019 awareness of recommended precautions to reduce occupational exposure and community transmission of Mpox. The workshop concluded that Mpox is a viral disease that is related to smallpox\u00a0and primarily found in remote parts in the world. Results from vaccine effectiveness studies indicated that a good level of protection is provided against\u00a0Mpox\u00a0following vaccination.<\/span><\/p>\n
