Under the direction and supervision of the esteemed Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the heads and coordinators of the scientific departments and members of the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad, attended a special course on drug abuse in schools and universities. This course was organized by the National Intelligence Agency and took place in the Martyr Fuad Al-Bayati Hall at the College of Languages, University of Baghdad, on October 15-16, 2024.The course aimed to raise awareness among as many students as possible across all colleges by educating university faculty and staff about the types of narcotic substances, their signs, statistics on addiction rates, the causes of drug use and addiction, methods of promoting drugs, and prevention strategies. This knowledge enables them to disseminate awareness among students during lectures and classes, reminding them of the dangers of drug abuse on individuals and society and protecting them from falling into its traps.<\/span><\/p>\n
