{"id":7900,"date":"2024-11-02T13:51:42","date_gmt":"2024-11-02T13:51:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/en.copharm.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=7900"},"modified":"2024-11-02T15:20:03","modified_gmt":"2024-11-02T15:20:03","slug":"synthesis-docking-study-preliminary-cytotoxicity-evaluation-of-new-thiosemicarbazides-schiffs-bases-oxadiazole-derivatives-from-4-hydroxy1-1-biphenyl-4carboxylic-aci","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/en.copharm.uobaghdad.edu.iq\/?p=7900","title":{"rendered":"Synthesis, Docking Study &#038; Preliminary Cytotoxicity Evaluation of New Thiosemicarbazides, Schiff\u2019s Bases &#038; Oxadiazole Derivatives from 4\u2019-hydroxy(1-1\u2019-biphenyl)-4carboxylic acid"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">The College of Pharmacy discussed the PhD dissertation entitled \u201cSynthesis, Docking Study &amp; preliminary cytotoxicity evaluation of New thiosemicarbazides, Schiff\u2019s bases &amp; Oxadiazole derivatives from 4\u2019-hydroxy(1-1\u2019-biphenyl)-4carboxylic acid\u201d by the student Wurood Shihab Ahmed and the supervisor, Professor Dr. Ammar Abdulrazaq Mahmoud at the pharmaceutical chemistry Department.The study aimed to Synthesize new anti-cancer compounds that act as epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) allosteric site inhibitors.The study included the design and synthesis of 23 compounds derived from 4&#8242;-Hydroxy (1-1&#8242;-biphenyl)-4-carboxylic acid, The final compounds were evaluated <em>in vitro<\/em> against four human cancer cell lines. Such new compounds were characterized by spectroscopic techniques: infrared (IR) spectroscopy, proton nuclear magnetic resonance (1HNMR), Carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance (13CNMR), and electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy (ESI-MS). A molecular docking study for the synthesized compounds was performed, against epidermal growth factor receptor kinase (EGFR kinase).\u00a0 The results showed that some compounds have high potency and selectivity against several cancer cell lines.
