Kathem Alkhateeb, an in-person workshop entitled \u201cWater Pollution by Chemicals and Its Impact on Water Scarcity in Iraq&#8221;\u00a0was held. The workshop was presented by Associate Lecturer Zahraa Abdalamir Ketan from the Human Resources Department and Associate Lecturer Duha Kadhem Salman, a faculty member in the Department of Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Plants. The workshop aimed to explore ways to address the problems of water pollution and scarcity and to discuss the key measures needed to reduce pollution in the Tigris and Euphrates rivers and protect water quality in Iraq. The workshop also focused on the main causes of these problems, their impact on the environment, and human life, as well as the elements and materials responsible for pollution. Additionally, solutions for tackling water pollution were presented, including the reuse of treated wastewater.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">The workshop included several topics, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Chemical pollution<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Main water pollutants<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">The harmful effects of water pollution<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Causes of water scarcity in Iraq<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Solutions for addressing water scarcity<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Key measures to reduce pollution in Iraq\u2019s rivers<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Reuse of treated wastewater<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">Procedures for wastewater treatment<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 19px;\">The workshop concluded with discussions on methods for treating river water in Iraq from chemical pollution caused by various factors. It also covered how treated wastewater can be safely reused after the removal of pollutants, making it suitable for environmental and human use.
