Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division at the University of Baghdad\/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person workshop entitled \u201cScientific Research Capabilities in Scopus ”\u00a0at the College of Education\/Ibn Rushd on Tuesday, November 4, 2024. The workshop was delivered by Lecturer Dr. Kawthar Khaled Ahmed, Head of the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division and a faculty member at the Pharmaceutics Department. The event was organized by the Quality Assurance Department at the Presidency of the University of Baghdad, in collaboration with the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Education\/Ibn Rushd.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Faleh Hassan, Director of the Quality Assurance Department at the University of Baghdad, Dr. Amer Muhammad, Head of the Training and Technical Support Division, as well as several department heads and faculty members from the College of Education\/Ibn Rushd.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop aimed to familiarize faculty members and researchers with the capabilities available in the Scopus database, such as the researcher\u2019s profile page, the researcher ID, the H-index, journal rankings, and how to search for scientific journals in specific subjects related to a researcher\u2019s expertise. The workshop also highlighted the importance of the ORCID researcher identifier.<\/span><\/p>\n

The workshop discussed the importance of continuous follow-up on the scientific publication status within the department, by tracking the department\u2019s H-index and affiliated faculty members, citation count, indicators of research cooperation with other institutions, and international research cooperation.<\/span><\/p>\n
