The Faculty of Pharmacy discussed the Higher Diploma thesis tagged <\/em>“Pharmacists\u2019 knowledge and attitude towards direct oral anticoagulants” by Shelan Bahyam Ahmed and her supervisor, Lec. Dr. Basma Zuheir Muhammed Naji in the Clinical Pharmacy<\/em> department.\u00a0The aim of the thesis was to assess the knowledge, attitude, and practice of community and hospital pharmacists towards direct oral anticoagulants and the effect of demographic variables on this knowledge, attitude, and practice.\u00a0A total of 224 community and hospital pharmacists participated in the study. The study results have shown that the highest knowledge level of the pharmacists was in the counseling domain (median 75%), whereas the lowest knowledge level was in the efficacy domain (median 45%). The results have also shown that age, level of education, and years of experience have significant effects on the knowledge level in both the safety and efficacy domains. The study has concluded that community and hospital pharmacists had insufficient knowledge about direct oral anticoagulants, which necessitates increasing awareness of these medications.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
