As part of the successful cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Iraqi universities, and in a step that reflects Baghdad University\u2019s College of Pharmacy, Clinical Pharmacy Department\u2019s commitment to supporting applied research with a direct impact on society, the Dhi Qar Health Directorate has requested the results of a study conducted by master’s student Hassan Ali Hassan Shabr, under the supervision of Assistant Professor Dr. Basma Zuhair Mohammad Naji from the Clinical Pharmacy Department. The study is titled “Evaluation of Antibiotic Prescriptions and Implementation of Antimicrobial Stewardship in Nasiriyah Hospitals: A Mixed-Methods Study,” and this request comes as the research is considered one of the research priorities set by the Iraqi Ministry of Health.The aim of the study was to highlight the importance of antimicrobial stewardship programs and their role in promoting the rational use of antibiotics, achieving the best health outcomes for patients, reducing healthcare costs, and combating microbial resistance. While the Ministry of Health has issued regulations to organize these programs, strengthening their practical implementation in healthcare institutions is a promising step toward improving medical care.<\/span><\/p>\n
