Under the supervision of the esteemed Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Continuing Education Unit at the University of Baghdad\/College of Pharmacy, organized a training course entitled \u201cZetasizer training course”. The course was presented by Associate Professor Dr. Khaled Kathem Al-Kinani, Head of the Pharmacognosy and Medicinal Plants Department, Lecturer Dr. Kawther Khalid Ahmed, Lecturer Dr. Nawar Mikhael Touma, and Lecturer Salam Shanta Taher, all faculty members at the Pharmaceutics Department. The training course was designed for graduate students (Master’s and PhD), especially those whose research is related to nanomedicine delivery systems. The course aimed to introduce them to the instrument and its importance, as well as to provide the necessary training for sample measurement and result interpretation. The course, which lasted for three days (26-28 November 2024), included lectures on the role of nanomedicine drug delivery systems and technologies in designing advanced treatments with high efficacy and minimal side effects, as well as lectures on the principles of Zetasizer operation, its method for measuring nanoparticles, and how to analyze results accurately and clearly. Additionally, there were lectures on the principle of Zeta potential and its significance in the stability of such delivery systems. Finally, there was practical training on the device. The course concluded with an assessment examination for the participants. This important course is part of the annual activities of the Pharmaceutics Department, held for the fourth consecutive year, aiming to prepare qualified researchers in pharmaceutical sciences and enhance the quality of published research by university researchers. The Zetasizer is considered one of the advanced tools in this field. The Pharmaceutics Department was equipped with the latest Zetasizer device about four years ago, thanks to the diligent efforts of the college\u2019s administration. Before that, students and researchers had to conduct tests on this instrument outside the college and university due to its unavailability. The faculty and the Pharmaceutics Department look forward to repeating this course annually to train new students and researchers, further enhancing the academic and research level of the college and our beloved university.<\/span><\/p>\n
