Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the continuous Education Unit at the University of Baghdad\/College of Pharmacy, held an in-person workshop entitled \u201cIsolation of bone marrow cells in mice and use it to evaluate chromosomal aberration,” delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Faris Hassan, a faculty member at the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department. The workshop aimed to explain the importance of studying chromosomal abnormalities and their impact on humans. The workshop included several topics, including the concept of genetic toxicity and its distinction from genetic mutations, the significance of studying chromosomal abnormalities, and the use of bone marrow cells to evaluate chromosomal abnormalities. The workshop concluded that the evaluation of toxic effects on chromosomes is one of the most important toxicological studies, as chromosomal abnormalities can lead to the development of many diseases. The use of bone marrow cells remains one of the primary methods for such evaluations to this day.<\/span><\/p>\n
