Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Scientific Affairs Unit at the University of Baghdad\/College of Pharmacy held an in-person scientific seminar entitled \u201cAprocitentan: A Novel Approach to Treating Resistant Hypertension,”\u00a0delivered by Pharmacist Zainab Attaa Hadi, a PhD student at the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department. The seminar aimed to define aprocitentan and its mechanism of action for treating high blood pressure. The seminar included several topics, including the drug\u2019s mechanism of action, side effects, therapeutic uses, necessary tests for the patient during the treatment period, and the groups for whom the drug is contraindicated.The seminar concluded that aprocitentan represents a promising new approach to hypertension management. It offers a unique mechanism of action, a favorable safety profile, and potential benefits for patients, and it is an effective treatment for resistant hypertension, offering hope for millions who struggle with this condition. Continued research and clinical experience will help further define its role in the hypertension landscape. Moreover, ongoing research will further explore its long-term efficacy and safety profile, potentially paving the way for a new generation of hypertension treatments.<\/span><\/p>\n
