Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad, held an in-person workshop entitled \u201cThe Impact of Drug Abuse on the Individual and Society\u201d,\u00a0delivered by Lecturer Dr. Shaymaa Abdulzahra Abbas, a faculty member at the Clinical Laboratory Science Department. The workshop aimed to raise awareness among university students and affiliates about the harms of drugs and their negative effects on mental, physical, and social health. The workshop included several topics, including comprehensive and reliable information about different types of drugs, identifying the signs of addiction and the stages of its treatment, encouraging discussion and dialogue about the drug issue, and identifying prospects for treatment, awareness, and support at the university and the local community. The workshop concluded the importance of preventing drug abuse and introducing them to the strategies and skills necessary to cope with life pressures and avoid abuse.<\/span><\/p>\n
