Under the patronage of His Excellency, the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani, and under the slogan \u201cMade in Iraq and by the Hands of Iraqi Pharmacists,\u201d the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate held its first conference on Thursday, February 13, 2025, to support the localization of the pharmaceutical industry in Iraq. This event is a continuation of the Iraqi government’s efforts to localize the pharmaceutical industry in the country, with the aim of achieving positive outcomes for individuals and society. These outcomes include providing safe and effective medicine at affordable prices, reducing dependence on imported products, and creating job opportunities for hundreds of young pharmacists.The conference was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, along with Associate Professor Dr. Khalid Kathem Al-Kinani, the advisor to the head of the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate for Pharmaceutical Industries, who delivered a lecture on the initiative for developing the capabilities of industrial pharmacists, and Lecturer Mais Fadhel Mohammed, the Head of the media and governmental communication division, who managed and hosted the conference, as well as several faculty members. The President of the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate, Dr. Haider Foaad Al-Saigh, delivered the opening speech, in which he welcomed the attendees and discussed the importance of the pharmaceutical industry and its development, with the goal of advancing it to a level befitting Iraq as the first country to teach humanity about civilization, enlightenment, and science, which had been a beacon for scholars and a cradle for discoveries, innovations, and industries, including the pharmaceutical industry. Afterward, the President of the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate chaired a panel discussion involving the responsible officials to address the issues related to the pharmaceutical industry, its development, and overcoming the obstacles hindering its progress. The conference also included scientific lectures on the national pharmaceutical industry, delivered by a number of specialized pharmacists. Additionally, an exhibition of national pharmaceutical products was opened on the sidelines of the conference. At the conclusion of the conference, the President of the Iraqi Pharmacists Syndicate expressed his thanks, appreciation, and gratitude to all the attendees, participants, and organizers, urging them to continue their efforts to achieve the desired development in the pharmaceutical industry, to restore Iraq to its previous\u00a0status.<\/span><\/p>\n
