Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Continuing Education Unit at the University of Baghdad\/College of Pharmacy held an in-person workshop entitled \u201cThe use of comet assay in evaluation of genotoxicity,\u201d\u00a0delivered by Dr. Ali Faris Hassan, a faculty member at the Pharmacology and Toxicology Department. \u00a0The workshop aimed to elucidate the significance of the comet assay, detailing its fundamental principles, operational mechanisms, and various applications in both scientific research and the medical field. The workshop included several topics, including an introduction to the comet assay and its scientific relevance, the fundamental principles and working mechanisms of the technique, applications of the comet assay in biomedical and research settings, the standardized protocol followed in conducting the assay, and methods for analyzing and interpreting the results. The workshop concluded that a comprehensive understanding of the comet assay, including its significance, methodological framework, and practical applications, is essential for advancing research in genotoxicity assessment and medical diagnostics.<\/span><\/p>\n
