Under the supervision of Associate Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathum AlKhateeb, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Pharmacy/University of Baghdad, held an awareness workshop at the College of Literature, University of Baghdad, entitled (Early detection of breast cancer: Safe and reassurance), which was submitted by a group of pharm D students under the supervision of university lecturers from the College of Pharmacy, University of Baghdad. The workshop aimed to educate the women about the importance of early detection of breast cancer to increase the rate of complete recovery and to identify the right steps and appropriate time to perform breast self-examination. The workshop also dealt with an introduction to the concept of breast cancer, the risk factors that increase the incidence of cancer, and the methods used to diagnose breast cancer and how to prevent it. The workshop included some common misconceptions among people about breast cancer. In the end, questions and inquiries from the attendees were answered, who praised the content of the workshop, in addition to distributing introductory brochures on the method of breast self-examination and ways that should be followed to reduce breast cancer.
