 Dean’s Message

In my name and on behalf of my colleagues in the faculty, I welcome you and I offer you the best greetings and thank you for visiting the college website. I and all the staff in this pioneering college form a wonderful team that works tirelessly to achieve the college’s goals and mission and to advance them to provide the best educational services to our loved students who are surrounded with parental care to be effective agents in providing community health service and patient care. It is not strange for us in this college to provide our students with the best experiences and skills necessary for their humanitarian work, as we were inspired by our long and ancient history in this field, as the oldest pharmacopoeial constitution and medicinal prescriptions in history were written in our country around 3000 years BC, even the pharmacy slogan currently circulated, it is inspired by a symbol used by the Sumerians in Mesopotamia. Complementing that ancient history, we are also proud of our modern history as our college is the first college of pharmacy in Iraq and one of the oldest pharmacy colleges in the region, since its foundation in 1936 and all the employees of the college, generation after generation, are doing their utmost efforts to provide the highest level of education, training and services to our beloved students, as their profession is of a humanitarian nature. For more than eighty years, the College has graduated more than 70000 students who have provided medical, health and industrial institutions in the country and provided health care to millions. Also, many of our college graduates contributed the internationally scientific arena in many educational, research and industrial institutions in a number of countries of the world after their immigration to it. Our college, with its wonderful elite, with more than 120 distinguished academic staff in various specializations, provides students with two levels of study: undergraduate and postgraduate. In the undergraduate, everyone is doing their best in providing the highest degrees of education, training and skills for students over the five years of study, as everyone attests to the high and distinguished level of our college graduates. As for postgraduate studies, our college is distinguished by providing the best study, training and research programs for higher diploma, masters and doctoral students in various disciplines of pharmacy sciences to supply the scientific arena with highly qualified experts and researchers, and the college’s laboratories with the modern equipment they contain provide a good opportunity to conduct scientific researches. We try hard with all available means to raise the quality of education for undergraduate and postgraduate studies and according to international standards, update the curriculum in line with scientific progress and the needs of society, provide the latest advanced teaching methods, train teachers on recent methods for education, introduce new electronic programs in teaching and examinations, provide modern scientific equipment to conduct the best researches. We also seek to establish relationships with international and local institutions and universities to exchange experiences, conduct research, and hold conferences, seminars and scientific events.
