Under the patronage of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, and under the supervision of the Support Committee for Volunteerism, the College of Pharmacy organized a volunteer campaign to hold a medical detachment to provide health services to the visitors of the Arba’een of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him. A number of undergraduate students and faculty members participated in it in the presence of the Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Raghad Abdul Razzaq Al-Hashemi, and with the active participation of the Student Activities Department at the University of Baghdad. The medical detachment lasted for three days from the 10th to the 12th of this month, from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM., some medications and medical supplies were provided, and visitors were educated by instructions on optimal use and the dangers of over-taking some medications, in addition to measuring blood pressure and blood sugar levels for visitors and healing wounds. This campaign comes in response to the university’s directives regarding the formation of volunteer committees and their readiness to provide services to visitors during the religious occasions.
