The Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kadhem Al-Khateeb, met the faculty members in the presence of the Associate Deans and Heads of Scientific Departments on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. The meeting commenced with words of welcome and appreciation for the faculty’s efforts at all levels as the college embarks on the new academic year.
The Dean then presented the main topics of discussion, which included:
1. Emphasizing the development of the practical aspect of the educational program to ensure that students acquire the desired skills, while employing modern methods of teaching and assessment, including the integration of artificial intelligence applications in a manner appropriate to the scientific subject and conducive to enhancing students’ skills.
2. Focusing on scientific publication as a reflection of the college’s research quality, with special emphasis on publishing in Q1 and Q2 journals indexed in reputable databases, and urging every faculty member to monitor their impact factor closely.
3. Expanding international collaboration with reputable universities and taking advantage of the agreements signed by the university in the areas of joint research, teaching, and supervision of postgraduate students.
4. Highlighting the importance of continuing short quizzes in lectures via the student response system, first adopted last year..
5. Reaffirming the importance of monitoring student attendance through the fingerprint attendance system, which has now been linked to a program that provides detailed attendance and absence statistics.
The meeting concluded with words of appreciation for all faculty members, wishing them a productive academic year full of accomplishments and success.
