Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the University Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Student Activities Unit, organized an extracurricular cultural activity in the college library on Tuesday, October 7, 2025. The event was attended by a group of second-year students who are passionate about reading and interested in general culture.

The activity aimed to create a balanced educational environment that supports students’ personal and intellectual growth by promoting cultural dialogue and positive interaction outside the traditional classroom atmosphere, thereby broadening students’ intellectual horizons and enhancing their critical and analytical thinking skills.

The activity included several key themes, such as highlighting a short philosophical novel that explored the conflict between innate talent and acquired experience. Students discussed the psychological and social dimensions of the story, particularly the impact of forced isolation on mental health and the role of oppressive environments in shaping human consciousness. They also explored the power of imagination as a means of survival and how it can turn into a dangerous mental weapon when balance is lost. Furthermore, the discussion addressed human suffering in the face of isolation and persecution, reflecting the depth of inner conflict and the search for identity.

In conclusion, this activity underscored the College’s commitment, represented by its esteemed Deanery, to nurturing cultural and intellectual aspects alongside scientific ones, through continuous support for extracurricular activities that help develop students’ personalities and enhance their critical and logical thinking skills.
