Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Naeem Alaboudi, the University of Baghdad hosted the First Volunteerism Conference 2025, which celebrated and honored Iraqi universities distinguished in the field of volunteer and awareness-raising activities.
The event was attended by the Head of the Supervision and Scientific Evaluation Apparatus, university presidents, the President of the Iraqi Academics Syndicate, and a gathering of faculty members and students.
The University of Baghdad earned first place among Iraqi universities, in recognition of its outstanding efforts in promoting the culture of volunteer work and implementing humanitarian and awareness campaigns that serve society and align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In his speech, the Minister praised the spirit of initiative and responsibility demonstrated by the students of the University of Baghdad, affirming that volunteer work represents one of the main pillars of academic and social development.
The College of Pharmacy had an active presence in the conference through student Fahad Ziyad and Mrs. Ensam Fuad Shakir, Head of the Voluntary Work Unit, emphasizing the college’s leading role in supporting humanitarian and community initiatives.
The Dean of the College of Pharmacy extends sincere congratulations on this distinguished achievement of our mother university, reaffirming the College’s pride in the active participation of its students in various volunteer and awareness activities, and its continued commitment to supporting humanitarian initiatives that enhance the pharmacist’s role in serving the community.
