Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Pharmacy and the College of Languages/ University of Baghdad, organized awareness workshop entitled “Student Mental Health: Between Reality and Aspiration” presented by Assistant Lecturer Iman Sattar Razzaq, member of the university psychological counseling unit.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and its direct impact on students’ academic performance and quality of life.
The workshop included several topics: including definition and significance of mental health in the university stage, discussion of academic pressures and psychological challenges related to the pursuit of excellence, the strategies for enhancing psychological and emotional balance and practical guidance for improving academic and social competence
The workshop concluded with an emphasis on the need for comprehensive psychological and academic support for students, the activation of psychological counseling services within the college and the importance of fostering an educational environment that prioritizes mental well-being as a key factor in student success and the achievement of their future aspirations.
