Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, Dean of the University Of Baghdad College Of Pharmacy, met with the students of the PharmD program in an interactive dialogue that addressed the pivotal role of clinical pharmacists in healthcare institutions and the college’s mission in preparing highly qualified graduates who combine scientific knowledge, clinical skills, and professional ethics.
During the meeting, the dean emphasized that the primary goal of the PharmD program is to graduate competent pharmacists capable of playing an active role in patient care and contributing to the enhancement of healthcare quality in hospitals and medical centers. He also highlighted the diverse career opportunities in the pharmacy profession, including hospital and community practice, the pharmaceutical industry, and the academic and research sectors.
The discussion also covered several academic and administrative issues concerning the students, as well as the challenges they may encounter during their studies, and the ways to overcome them to ensure a fair and motivating educational environment.
At the end of the session, the dean listened attentively to the students’ feedback and inquiries, reaffirming the college administration’s commitment to supporting their academic journey and addressing any obstacles they may encounter.
