Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the Continuing Education Unit at the University of Baghdad/College of Pharmacy held an in-person workshop entitled “Collective Consciousness and Social Subconsciousness in Combating Corruption” delivered by the legal advisor Murtadha Abdul-Hussein Hassan, Head of the Legal Affairs Division.The workshop aimed to clarify the importance of law and legislative development in combating corruption. The workshop included several topics, including explaining the concepts of collective consciousness and social subconscious and their role in drafting and interpreting laws, pointing out that legislation is not built in isolation from the social environment, but is influenced by the prevailing value system and the depth of legal culture within society. In addition, the workshop addressed the impact of these concepts on public administration in terms of contributing to finding solutions to administrative problems within institutions and strengthening efforts to combat administrative corruption. Also, the workshop highlighted the importance of legal awareness within society and supporting proper legal behavior in consistency with the values of integrity and transparency.

The workshop concluded that it is important to strengthen the cultural structure of society in parallel with legal and administrative reforms, as well as with digital and electronic development, while emphasizing that reforming societal culture is the basis for achieving true justice.
