Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kadhem Al-Khateeb, the Continuing Education Unit at the College of Pharmacy/ University of Baghdad, held an in-person workshop entitled “Personalized Hair Loss Management: Tailoring Your Approach”, presented by Assistant Lecturer Sarah Asaad Kadhim, faculty member in the Clinical Pharmacy Department.
The workshop aimed to enable participants to understand the causes of hair loss accurately, identify the individual factors influencing their condition, and develop a personalized plan for maintaining hair health based on proper nutrition, suitable supplements, and a healthy lifestyle.
The workshop covered several key points, including a detailed explanation of different types of hair loss such as androgenetic alopecia and telogen effluvium, as well as common contributing factors such as genetics, hormonal changes, stress, and nutritional deficiencies. It also highlighted the role of essential nutrients and effective supplements including biotin, iron, zinc, and vitamin D in supporting hair health. Additional topics included lifestyle modifications such as stress management, adopting a balanced diet, and practicing healthy scalp-care routines, along with showcasing products designed to treat hair loss.
The workshop concluded by emphasizing the importance of understanding one’s personal causes of hair loss and the need to design an individualized treatment plan based on accurate assessment, proper nutrition, appropriate supplement selection, and adherence to a long-term hair care routine that supports sustained hair health.
