Under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Professor Dr. Sarmed H. Kathem Alkhateeb, the University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Pharmacy/ University of Baghdad held an in-person educational workshop, as part of the activities of the Guidance Week, entitled “The Importance of Volunteer Work in University Life” delivered by Senior Sports Trainer Ansam Fouad Shakir and fifth-year student Azal Sabah Nouri.
The seminar aimed to highlight the essential role of volunteer work in developing students’ personalities, strengthening their sense of belonging and social responsibility, and demonstrating the impact of student initiatives on the community and university environment.
The seminar included an introduction to the Voluntary Work Unit and its support for student-led initiatives, along with several key topics such as the concept and value of volunteer work, the role of student initiatives in promoting social solidarity, mechanisms for joining volunteer teams.
The seminar concluded by emphasizing that volunteer work is a vital component of building a cooperative and effective university community, and encouraging students to actively participate in upcoming volunteer programs and college activities.
